Review: Elizavecca Milky Piggy Carbonated Bubble Clay Mask

Clay Masks have become one of the absolute musts in my skincare regime! I enjoy using these type of leave on masks so much more than the usual sheet masks because I usually like to apply varying amounts of the product on my face depending on where I feel it needs more TLC.

The first time I saw this product was on The Beauty Breakdown's youtube video and I was really interested because I've never seen a leave on mask like this that actually starts to bubble on the face upon application. However, Elizavecca wasn't a brand that I am familiar with so I did not consider getting it since I already had the Innisfree Super Volcanic Pore Clay Mask. I finally decided to get it was on 79% sale last Black Friday weekend because the deal was just too good to resist.

The brand: Elizavecca

Before this, I have never heard much about Elizavecca but it has apparently been in the Korean beauty market for over 20 years now! What I like about their brand is the really cute packaging they have across their huge range of products! The most popular product line would probably be the Milky Piggy line, where the packaging would always have the iconic Elizavecca piggy in a dotted scarf. Apart from this carbonated bubble clay mask, their Green Piggy Collagen Jella Pack is another highly raved product that I would definitely consider getting in the near future.

Carbonated Clay Bubble Mask - What is it?

This bubble clay mask is both a deep-cleansing makeup remover and pore cleanser in one! With its special formulation of charcoal powder, it deeply penetrates the pores to thoroughly get rid of deep-seated dirt while supplying proper nutrients to keep the skin healthy and supple. It not only cleanses, refines and tightens pores but it also helps control excessive sebum which usually causes the pores to be clogged.

Directions for Usage

Packaging

It comes in a tight seal and a spoon inside to scoop the product out. Remember not to leave the lid opened for too long as the product starts to react once it comes into contact with air.

Texture

The clay mask is unlike the usual ones like those from Innisfree. This one was very jelly like and springy. You can see the gooey texture when I lift the inner cover off. I usually just use a spoonful of product for my entire face.

Experience

I was sceptical about the mask being a 2-in-1 makeup remover and clay mask because I always believed that it is important to remove the thick layer of makeup on the skin before applying any skincare products. When I did try to use it as a makeup remover, I was surprised how well it cleansed my face of all the makeup products.

In the jar, it is of a soft cream consistency and feels very cooling when I spread it over my face. Within a minute, I could feel and actually hear the bubbles starting to froth up and in 5 minutes, the cream would have reacted into a light, foamy texture. I did accordingly to the directions of usage and massaged the foam but it would be better to add some water so it is spreadable.

The mask did not leave my skin feeling dried out after, as usual clay masks do. It does a great job of cleansing my makeup and also left my pores looking tighter and cleaner. Most importantly, it was so much fun using this clay mask and I absolutely loved the smell and feeling it had on my skin.

It is definitely a great product and I would be purchasing the collagen mask once this runs out!
